Volkmar Hinrichsmeyer

Lawyer (LL.M.) and developer

My legal work and my experience as a developer belong together. I advise organizations on privacy, AI regulation, cybersecurity law and digital legal workflows, with an eye on both legal requirements and practical implementation.

Since 2019, I have worked as in-house counsel in the legal department of a large German utility. Since 2025, I have also been a freelance instructor at TÜV NORD Akademie. I also run my own practice. Previously, I worked in the privacy team at PwC Germany and developed web projects.

I know technical processes from my own development work, from web applications to solutions built with Microsoft Power Platform. I use this experience to make legal questions clearer and help teams define sensible next steps.

My professional path.

My legal and technical perspectives have developed through several roles.

2025 – Present
- Freelance instructor at TÜV NORD Akademie. Training in data protection, with a particular focus on handling data subject requests in practice.
2019 – Present
- In-house counsel (Syndikusrechtsanwalt) in the legal department of a large German utility.
2017 – Present
- Established my own practice with a focus on data protection, AI regulation, and legal operations. Consulting companies on GDPR, the AI Act, and EU regulation. Implementing custom legal automation solutions with Microsoft Power Platform.
2017 – 2018
- In-house counsel (Syndikusrechtsanwalt) in the data protection team at PwC Germany.
2013 – 2014
- Research assistant at a Dutch law firm.
2012 - 2025
- Web developer with a focus on SEO projects.
